This summer the bear workshop was awash with jeans, as celebrities from far and wide joined forces to support ‘The Great Teddy Bear Project’ with a view to raising funds for the children’s charity ‘Together for Short Lives’.
The concept was simple … with forty years of creating bespoke memory bears from treasured items of clothing, most particularly bears from denim jeans, Canterbury Bears were the perfect partner for the project with creative social enterprise organisation Eazl.
And so the jeans began to arrive from …

And the snipping began … the painstaking lifting of diamante embellishments, the embroidery of famous autographs with the help of our neighbours at Just So, cutting, stitching and stuffing – each bear created by our team with the owner of the jeans in mind …
… and at last they were ready and the auction slot booked and we can tell you all about it … we will be sharing more pictures over the coming weeks, you can see all the bears on the Canterbury Bear website and start bidding from November 18th, a unique Christmas Gift, a treasured keepsake, a collector’s item, a beautiful bear! Auctioned in aid of an extraordinary charity.
But we mentioned 22 bears … and there is a final bear, made from strips of fabric from all the celebrity jeans, The Great Celebrity Bear carries all the autographs and will be placed in a sweepstake raffle on Charity Stars from 18th November to 16th December.
