Created for The 2021 Great Teddy Bear Project to raise funds for the children’s charity ‘Together for Short Lives

Tim Peake, British Army Air Corps officer, European Space Agency astronaut and former International Space Station (ISS) crew member. He is the first British ESA astronaut, the second astronaut to bear a flag of the United Kingdom patch, has supported our project this year by donating a much-loved pair of cords which have been transformed into a very special bear.

Embroidered with Tim’s autograph, this very special space bear sports an ‘Principia Flown in Space’ fob that travelled with him to the International Space Station. In Tim’s words ‘It has completed 3000 orbits of planet Earth travelling at 25 times the speed of sound’!!!

The Bear will be auctioned with the 21 celebrity bears in the project through Charity Stars.

Bidding opens on Thursday 18th November and will close on Thursday 2nd December.

Description

Created from Tim’s cords, all Great Teddy Bear Project bears have shiny black safety locking eyes, hand embroidered noses and are fully jointed with our own hand-stamped wooden joints. They are filled with pure white polyester fibre with a bean-filled tummy to give a lovely tactile weight.
