Canterbury Bears are proud to be working with Teddington Trust to produce a special bear which will be given to children across the UK diagnosed with XP (Xeroderma Pigmentosum).

XP is an extremely rare genetic condition which is characterised by an extreme sensitivity to UV (ultraviolet) rays. UV is found in sunlight and most artificial lighting. Unless those with XP are protected from UV light, their skin and eyes may be severely damaged and this can lead to cancer.

The Teddington Trust have created 'The Little Ted Book and Bear project' which aims to distribute a resource pack, book and teddy bear dressed in protective clothing to every child in the UK diagnosed with the condition. Click here to view The Teddington Trust website.
